What is the game room?
The game room is the place to be if you like any kind of video game. It’s a room filled with big projection- and TV-screens displaying a wide array of video games. The available games differ from 'old skool' NES and SNES classics to the brand new Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 games. From simple puzzle games to intense fighting games and from relaxing fishing games to extreme race games. There’s bound to be a game that will get you hooked.
We also invite you to bring your own Handheld, like your Nintendo DS or PSP, so you can challenge other visitors to play your favorite handheld game. You'll also be able to download and play game demo's with your Nintendo DS in the game room.
Where can I find the game room?
The game room is located at the hotel’s 4th Floor, you can either follow the hotel's signs to the Mysteriezaal or the maps to the game room located near all major exits and elevators.
Dance Dance Revolution (DDR)
Like last year Dance Dance Revolution will have its own room! This will be located on the hotel’s 5th Floor in the Almelozaal. You will be able to play DDR with up to 6 players simultaneously on many old and new songs. DDR will not play in the evening, when other events are using the room.
Competitions and Signup
What are games without a little competition you say? Well you’re correct, a game is twice as fun if you can brag about how you beat your opponent in a 62-Hit combo or how you were ahead of him 2 laps by the time he finished. During Anime 2008 there will be multiple game contests hosted in and around the game room. All visitors are free to join any and all competitions of their choice for a chance to win fabulous prizes.
For most competitions it is required to sign-up before the competition starts. You can find the sign-up sheets at the entrance of the game room. For the Dance Dance Revolution competitions, you can find the sign-up sheets in the Dance Dance Revolution Room.
Restrictions
The usual rules apply. So, please leave your bags, food and drinks outside of the game room. Please note that the no-smoking policy is also in affect in the game room.
Since the game room is usually pretty warm, please do not forget to use deodorant when needed. ;)
