I have been a core staff member since 2003. Before that I did some volunteering and gophering for the foundation. My function in the foundation is somewhat of a mixed bag. I'm webmaster of this website and in charge of operational printed matters (like the tickets, badges, taxi vouchers, etc.). I used to be responsible for the festival newsletters and booklet, but this year that responsibility was passed on to core staff member Robert, due to lack of spare time. I'm also responsible for festival security.

This is all just a 'hobby' that started with the love for (mostly mecha and Ghibli) anime. I met Niels (our chairman) one day and kind of rolled into the foundation. However I'm not a really serious otaku. I'm probably the least knowledgeable staff member when it comes to anime. I have a very demanding job as CEO of two companies (an advertising agency and an ICT company). I'm married but have no kids. My hobbies include (serious) scuba diving and I like to play a computer game or two (mostly First Person Shooters). I own a fast PC for that purpose and a Wii for the funnier type of games (thanks Baris, for getting me and my wife hooked to the Wii!). My motivation for doing this foundation work is I like the smiling faces of the festival visitors. However due to my job it's sometimes very hard to find the time the foundation needs or deserves, but I'm not the only one suffering from that problem. Still, I like it more than I hate it, so that's why I'm still able to stick around. What the future brings however, I'm not sure.
