Where can I stay when I cannot get a room at the hotel?
The VVV Almelo has lists with a wide variety of sleeping alternatives: www.vvvalmelo.nl/nl/site/slapen. Those pages include many options cheaper than the Theaterhotel. We also arrange a bus service to Hotel Hengelo, the overflow hotel. The bus service drives at least once every other hour from the Theaterhotel to Hotel Hengelo and back during the whole 50 hours of the festival, including the night. Duiring the day it goes more often. Bustickets cost € 4,- per one way trip - which unfortunately covers less than half our costs.

Why didn't you guys book a hotel with enough rooms?
Because there are not that many out there that offer all the facilities we need, such as large rooms (like a 845-seat theatre for example) AND enough rooms for everybody. The few that do are more expensive and that would mean increased ticket and room prices.

Where can I leave my stuff if I do not have a room?
There will be a manned cloak room to leave your goods. However, leaving your belongings there is at your own risk!

What the heck is an overflow hotel?
Most hotels have a limited room capacity, Theaterhotel Almelo is no exception. It is a large hotel, but there will be more people wanting to book a room for the festival than this hotel has to offer. For this reason a partner hotel, Hotel Hengelo, will be used to accomodate the 'overflow' of visitors. Hotel Hengelo is of a slightly more luxurious nature, but will offer its rooms for the exact same rate as Theater Hotel Almelo. You will automatically be booked in Hotel Hengelo as soon as Theaterhotel Almelo has sold out. We offer a taxi service between both hotels for a small fee. You will receive your breakfast menu at the overflow hotel, your dinner however, will be served at Theater Hotel Almelo.

Can we bring our own food and drinks and consume them on the festival grounds?
No. The festival hotel has reasonable prices. If you have booked a room, dinner and breakfast are included. Of course, what you do IN YOUR OWN ROOM is your own business. Also, please keep your room (reasonably) clean. The fact that the room rates increase each year has something to do with the mess people leave behind for the hotel cleaning staff to pick up, so please take this into consideration.

Can I leave my car there?
Yes, the hotel has a parking garage. Parking fees may apply. Please inquire with the hotel for more information.
