Shogi is the Japanese version of chess Sho (meaning general) and Gi (meaning board game) lets you take charge of your own army to defeat your opponent.

The Dutch Shogi Association (NShB) is the association that deals with the introduction and preservation of Japanese Chess (Shogi) in the Netherlands and they organize the annual Dutch Championship.

The NShB is associated with the Japanese shogi organization - the Nihon Shogi Renmei - and organizes the classification of shogi players through the ELO rating. This is a global scoring and ranking system, that changes with every game played and reflects the strength of a players.

So if you want to learn how to play shogi, visit the stand at the Event plaza and take a seat.
