Gin Tasting

The Taste of Japanese Gin 1

Together with Bar Restaurant Sugar Hill and Salud Distribution we bring you our first Japanese Gin tasting. And not just any kind of Japanese gin! We would not be AnimeCon if we did not manage to find the best gin produced in Japan. Where every ingredient is distilled separately and not just infused. A gin that does not need a tonic to be great. We’re of course talking about Ki no Bi gin from Kyoto Distillery. We also would not be AnimeCon if we did not have some super special bottles for you to try.

About Kyoto Distillery

Kyoto Distillery is Japan’s first dedicated artisanal gin distillery, located in Minami-Ku, in the south part of Kyoto City, close to the Fushimi region, famed for hundreds of years for its production of delicious nihon-shu (Japanese sake). Their aim is simple: they want to produce the best dry gin that we can, utilizing local botanicals wherever possible. They want every element of their final product to be completely authentic, from the local sourcing of the ingredients through to the design and craftsmanship of the packaging. Their journey to bringing this first bottling of KI NO BI to you has been fascinating and educational and has thrown up a myriad of exciting possibilities for future products and collaborations.

About Salud Distribution

Salud Distribution is the importer of premier gins and other spirits. They are the official distribution channel for Kyoto Distillery and Chichibu Distillery in The Netherlands. Thanks to their help, we were able to get our hands on four of the five bottles served here today.
